Something a little different........

don't you think? This was a card I made with Kristina Werner's last challenge. Didn't get it done in time to submit it but I kinda like it, so I thought I would share it anyway. It is totally different colours than I would normally work with but I am really into the circle thing at the moment.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Matchbook Album

I created this as a display for my workshops. It was so easy with the Simply Scrappin' Kit and some black & white photos.

This is the front and is held together with Mellow Moss Grosgrain ribbon. This is the album open. I have used the Baroque Motifs swirl stamp (again!) and the flower & pearls are from the Pretties Kit.I used different sized pages for each one and held them all together with the jumbo eyelets.
Here I have used a Life's Definitions stamp - I really like these. I was lucky enough to earn them FREE in my first three months of demonstrating (Love that SU!)I really like this photo of my Mum & I (I don't usually like photos of myself!) She really is a special person in our lives.

It was really enjoyable creating this little album, maybe I could do it as a class one day!?!?

Sketch Challenge

Ok, am really getting into these challenges that are out there. They are fantastic for creating quick projects and when you are a little time poor or idea challenged, any help is fantastic.

This is based on the June sketch over at Emma's Paperie. I whipped it up in just minutes.
It uses Soft Sky and River Rock cardstock along with Close to Cocoa and River Rock Ink. The pearl & flowers are from the Pretties kit and I have colour the flowers with the River Rock ink pad. Stamps sets used were Carte Postale Weathered Background and Life Definitions. Also used Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon and a Jumbo Eyelet.

Enjoy!

Colour Inspiration Challenge #13

It has taken me a while to get into these colour challenges that Kristina Werner has been doing on her blog. I have been stalking her for a while now and love all that she does and only last time did I attempt the challenge. Only to realise that I was too late to submit it. Oops!

So tonight when the notification came by email (yes, I signed up so that I would know when the next one was without stalking!) I got to it immediately and created this:

I love these colours together and finally used some hodge podge (it looks so beautiful in its little tin that I never seem to want to disturb it....silly I know!). Anyway, I had a whole lot of fun and it is a terrific way to step out of your usual colour scheme.

Embossing Class

Last week I held the embossing class here at my place. I had a fabulous time teaching 5 gorgeous ladies how to play with powder! I thought I would show you what we created.

First we created a 8x8 scrapbook page:

This uses the Baroque Motifs swirl and the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet (new set to me - and I LOVE IT!), along with the white embossing powder. The scallops were made with the slit punch (I just love tools that have more than one use - don't you?) and the Jumbo eyelet was set with the Crop-o-dile.

Next we created a nice little card:This used Garden Whimsy and uses the Emboss Resist technique.

And finally we created these gorgeous little clips I have named 'Happy Clips'. I found these all over a heap of American blogs (one here) and just loved them. They were super easy and a really great idea for a gift. I think they would make a fabulous book mark - don't you?

Do you wish you couldv'e come now? Well, just let me know if you would like to learn how to use embossing powder......or even if you just want a night out! I would be happy to repeat this class if I have enough participants. Just contact me at scrapalley@aapt.net.au, OK?

I'm Published!!!!!!! Vol. 13 No. 11

Yay! I was very excited today when I drove out my drive to find a magazine sticking out of the letter box. As my magazine subscription had finished, I was a bit confused as to why I would have a mag delivered. Then it hit me.....could it be!?!?!?

Yes, it was! My very first card published in a magazine. YAY!

Here it is:This is the card I made for Mums birthday and it uses all Stampin' Up products. When we were in the car looking at the magazine, Jackson commented - "I have never seen you so excited Mum!". I had to laugh, I'm sure that can't be true.....can it? It was VERY exciting to see my work in print I must admit.

The magazine is Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft (new name for Stamping & Papercraft Mag) and I am not sure whether it is out yet to buy. I will certainly be getting another copy for my Mum...and maybe my MIL! LOL.

Forgot to share this one too!

It uses the Petals & Paisleys patterned paper, Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, metal edge tag, scallop punch, slit punch, Petals & Polka Dot stamp set, Warm Words stamp set and a Soft Subtles button. Phew, what a mouth full!
