Hello, is anybody out there????

Oh my gosh!!

How long has it been??? I refuse to believe that is has been over a month.

Life has been EXTREMELY hectic and I have let my blog here slide a little. My apologies to those of you that take the time to check my little cyber space here. Thank you for dropping by again.

Here is a little Christmas card to share with you as the season is now upon us. I have used the Tree Trimmings set from the Spring Mini catalogue on this card. The catalogue finishes on Monday, so if there is anything you would like to order please contact me before Monday to place your order.

I have been super slack on taking photos and my crafting efforts have been concentrated elsewhere at the moment. So to make up for having no projects to show you, I am very excited to share two projects made by some fabulous girls I know.

The first is a Random Act of Kindness gift I received in the post a couple of weeks ago. From the talented Pam Godfrey. I was so surprised to receive it....................and super happy. It looks fabulous on my cabinet in the lounge room.
See the details of the flower pots. Love it!

Then this project.....................it just makes me sigh with happiness. I received this from my gorgeous downline, Erin Crowther for my house warming.

See the sparkly glittering detail on the little house at the top of the hill.

And see the long path that represents my new looooong driveway. Love it.

Thank you so much to Pam and Erin for my gorgeous gifts. I really appreciate the efforts you have put into these items. They are treasured.

Thanks again for stopping by. Will be back next week after my crafting weekend with some more projects to share with you.

Bye,
Alex

Close to My Heart - Sids and Kids

If you are local to the Central Coast and want to have a night out crafting, then we would love you to join us at our fundraising event. It is for Sids and Kids and here are the details:

You may not realise but stillbirth is still quite common, and in our group of 7 Stampin Up demonstrators 2 of the Mums have had a still born. I can't imagine what it must be like and my SU team want to help in raising money for research into this problem.

SIDS and Kids isn't just about stillbirth, SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and to supporting bereaved families. A cause well worth supporting! Bookings are essential and places are limited so get in early and email me at scrapalley@gmail.com or phone on 0414 444 150.

I would love you to join us if you can.

Can you hear the Jingle Bells?

They are not too far away! Does that make you smile or cringe? Makes me smile because I love Christmas.

This weekend Georgina and I spent the day at the Erina markests again and this time we took our own crafting tools to create while we sat. (Not much selling or workshop bookings went on sadly). We decided to get into the Christmas spirit and started planning our Stamp-a-Stacks. Want to see what we created? Thought you might :)

Here is one I made borrowing Georgina's "Spotlight on Christmas" which I think I need to buy now. See that background stamp with the swirls and stars...............LOVE IT!!!!

And then I cased this one from Georgina (who I think cased someone else). Again using Spotlight on Christmas.

Then I got all vintage (as I always seem to) and created some tags for my pressies.
I am holding a Stamp-a-Stack on Monday 21st September at 10am and still have a couple of spots left. So if you want to come along and get a jump start on your Christmas cards, contact me to book your spot. Christmas is just around the corner you know! :)

Bye for now,
Alex

Shabby Chic class in Lisarow

Hi there

Hope you are having a lovely weekend. I just wanted to share with you one of the projects for my Shabby Chic classes that are on this week.

So if you would like to make one of these along with two Shabby Chic cards then I have a couple of spots left in both classes. I have a Monday daytime class at 10.30am or Tuesday night at 7.30pm.

Would love to see you here and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at scrapalley@gmail.com. If you are local give me a call to book in J

I love this photo that my friend Liz took of my little one. I just had a really quick play with it and loved how it ended up and wanted to share.

Happy Fathers Day

I hope you have a fabulous weekend with your family and loved ones. Here is the card that we will be giving to the special man in our family (just got to come up with a perfect gift???)
Maybe a notepad (LOL). Not too sure that is his style, so am thinking maybe a chainsaw so that he can cut wood for my open fire :)

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by,
Alex

All things vintage & shabby

I am loving all things vintage and shabby at the moment. Rough it up, stain it, spritz it and sponge it.
I have used the Friends 24/7 bird stamp on this card and stained some white crochet lace with plain old coffee. I love this effect. What do you think? A bit vintagey? (I know, that isn't really a word). I have also embossed along the bottom in white embossing powder. Love that stuff too.

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend, it is really windy here and the big trees on our new property are quite noisy. Perfect weather for crafting (or painting walls, which is what I am starting tomorrow I think :).

Bye,
Alex

Day Card Classes @ Lisarow

Well, today I was joined by some gorgeous girls to stamp a whole stack of cards for their stash. It was my first day time class and we had a great time. We stamped a bit, had some yummy lunch (including Choc Raspberry Brownie that I made from scratch this morning!!) and then stamped some more. Want to see some of the cards that were made?
They all use the new Christmas Paper from the Spring Mini Catalogue called Ski Slope. I just love it because while it is perfect for Christmas it can be used for birthdays and other occasions too. (This next one was inspired by Marelle Taylor, thanks for the inspiration Marelle)

We also predominantly used the Party Hearty set. It is a very versatile set for girls and boys featuring party hats, cupcake, candle and sentiments.
I really like the cupcake. It looks so cute covered in Dazzling Diamonds.
Thanks for stopping by. I will share a sneak peek of Fathers Day projects later in the week (if you want to join in the Fathers Day class it is on this Friday night and I have a couple of spots left).

Bye,
Alex

Stamp-a-Stack Q & A

I have had a few questions over the last week about what a Stamp-a-Stack is. So I thought I would clear it up for you in case you wanted to know.

A stamp-a-stack is where you come along and make a stack of cards to keep in your stash for when you need them. Everything is included in the class price, you need to bring nothing. You make 6 cards (3 each of 2 designs) and they are in the theme of the class. So here is a sneak peek of one of the cards for Monday's Stamp-a-Stack:

The theme for Monday is birthdays and we will using the Party Hearty stamp set. Plus we will be using some new patterned paper from the Spring Mini. (Doesn't look a bit like Christmas does it?).

I still have two spots left for Monday's class, so if you would like to come along and make three of the above card (or a different configuration of that card) plus three more, then email me at scrapalley@gmail.com or call me on 0414 444 150 to book your spot. Details are over on the side there.

Have a great Sunday tomorrow,
Bye

Fancy flowers.....

very frustrating!!!

For me, I find fiddly things difficult to concentrate through. So when I had a bunch of my favourite customers want to re-create the flowers in the Spring Mini Catalogue, I said "Sure, let's give it a go!" Arghhhhh! Let's just say I didn't enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. Single petal flower creating is not for me!

Here is what we made:

I used the Tucked Away Timeless Template from Lauren Meader again because I just love this little box. They all looked good when finished but I don't think this will be a repeat class :)

Alex

Teachers Gifts

The boys went off to school today with these for their teachers.
When we made mention to Sam's teachers on Friday that we were making Cookies & Cream cupcakes on the weekend. They wanted to know if they were coming to school with him on Monday. So we made them yesterday and I bought this gorgeous Timeless Template last night and made the cute little boxes to put them in.

Arn't they just the sweetest? I hope they like them (and I hope they are not left in the bottom of school bags for me to find this afternoon.....eeeeek!)

Keep watch here on the blog as I will be doing a class on these boxes really soon. (Not the cupcakes I'm afraid, while they are really yummy I have no desire to be a cooking teacher!! Am sure that I can pass on the recipe though!!)

Thanks for stopping by,
Alex

Changes to Class Schedule

Just wanted to let you know that I have made a couple of changes to my class schedule posted below.

One class has been postponed (the beauty of being you own boss, you can do that :) and two others have moved to Wednesday night because I have had some customer requests for Wednesday night classes. Hopefully it might suit you better also.

And to leave you with a little eye candy, here is a frame I have shabbied up and used the Great Friend stamp set to decorate. I have also used the new papers from the Spring Mini catalogue and some gorgeous double stitched ribbon in Rose Red. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and if you are local don't forget to contact me to book into a class - they are good fun.

Wrap Around

Last month was my friend and upline's birthday. I love making presents for my friends and family, it's like you are giving a little piece of you. I made Linda this cute little project called a Wrap Around designed by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink. It is a handy project too, she can record peoples birthday in it so that she can be on top of her card giving (mmmm, maybe I need one too).

I borrowed the Fifth Ave Floral stamp set to create this and have decided that I NEEEED that set. So I am hoping to earn it for free by the end of this month (SU is so good at promos to give you things for free - gotta love free!) You too can earn stuff for free by holding a workshop, just contact me if you are interested.
Bye for now,
Alex

Whoooo's a Cutie?

A couple of weeks ago I held a class on chipboard. We inked, glued, coloured and glittered a bunch of Stampin' Up Chipboard shapes (my kitchen floor was very sparkly by the end of the night).

Here is a scrapbook page where I used the branch and owl from the On Board So Tweet set:

I got inspiration for the owl from somewhere on my blogging searches and would love to give credit, but my brain won't seem to retain anything at the moment. He wasn't my idea but I love him anyway.

And here is a card we created with the chipboard pear.
We ran it through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to create the polka dots.

We got good news today, it seems that our new house has a few little building issues but nothing major. Yay! Just need a plumbers report on Monday and everything hopefully will be a 'GO'. I cannot wait to get my family into our new property.

Thanks for stopping by,
Alex
