All things vintage & shabby

I am loving all things vintage and shabby at the moment. Rough it up, stain it, spritz it and sponge it.
I have used the Friends 24/7 bird stamp on this card and stained some white crochet lace with plain old coffee. I love this effect. What do you think? A bit vintagey? (I know, that isn't really a word). I have also embossed along the bottom in white embossing powder. Love that stuff too.

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend, it is really windy here and the big trees on our new property are quite noisy. Perfect weather for crafting (or painting walls, which is what I am starting tomorrow I think :).

Bye,
Alex

Day Card Classes @ Lisarow

Well, today I was joined by some gorgeous girls to stamp a whole stack of cards for their stash. It was my first day time class and we had a great time. We stamped a bit, had some yummy lunch (including Choc Raspberry Brownie that I made from scratch this morning!!) and then stamped some more. Want to see some of the cards that were made?
They all use the new Christmas Paper from the Spring Mini Catalogue called Ski Slope. I just love it because while it is perfect for Christmas it can be used for birthdays and other occasions too. (This next one was inspired by Marelle Taylor, thanks for the inspiration Marelle)

We also predominantly used the Party Hearty set. It is a very versatile set for girls and boys featuring party hats, cupcake, candle and sentiments.
I really like the cupcake. It looks so cute covered in Dazzling Diamonds.
Thanks for stopping by. I will share a sneak peek of Fathers Day projects later in the week (if you want to join in the Fathers Day class it is on this Friday night and I have a couple of spots left).

Bye,
Alex

Stamp-a-Stack Q & A

I have had a few questions over the last week about what a Stamp-a-Stack is. So I thought I would clear it up for you in case you wanted to know.

A stamp-a-stack is where you come along and make a stack of cards to keep in your stash for when you need them. Everything is included in the class price, you need to bring nothing. You make 6 cards (3 each of 2 designs) and they are in the theme of the class. So here is a sneak peek of one of the cards for Monday's Stamp-a-Stack:

The theme for Monday is birthdays and we will using the Party Hearty stamp set. Plus we will be using some new patterned paper from the Spring Mini. (Doesn't look a bit like Christmas does it?).

I still have two spots left for Monday's class, so if you would like to come along and make three of the above card (or a different configuration of that card) plus three more, then email me at scrapalley@gmail.com or call me on 0414 444 150 to book your spot. Details are over on the side there.

Have a great Sunday tomorrow,
Bye
Alex

Fancy flowers.....

very frustrating!!!

For me, I find fiddly things difficult to concentrate through. So when I had a bunch of my favourite customers want to re-create the flowers in the Spring Mini Catalogue, I said "Sure, let's give it a go!" Arghhhhh! Let's just say I didn't enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. Single petal flower creating is not for me!

Here is what we made:

I used the Tucked Away Timeless Template from Lauren Meader again because I just love this little box. They all looked good when finished but I don't think this will be a repeat class :)

Alex

Teachers Gifts

The boys went off to school today with these for their teachers.
When we made mention to Sam's teachers on Friday that we were making Cookies & Cream cupcakes on the weekend. They wanted to know if they were coming to school with him on Monday. So we made them yesterday and I bought this gorgeous Timeless Template last night and made the cute little boxes to put them in.

Arn't they just the sweetest? I hope they like them (and I hope they are not left in the bottom of school bags for me to find this afternoon.....eeeeek!)

Keep watch here on the blog as I will be doing a class on these boxes really soon. (Not the cupcakes I'm afraid, while they are really yummy I have no desire to be a cooking teacher!! Am sure that I can pass on the recipe though!!)

Thanks for stopping by,
Alex

Changes to Class Schedule

Just wanted to let you know that I have made a couple of changes to my class schedule posted below.

One class has been postponed (the beauty of being you own boss, you can do that :) and two others have moved to Wednesday night because I have had some customer requests for Wednesday night classes. Hopefully it might suit you better also.

And to leave you with a little eye candy, here is a frame I have shabbied up and used the Great Friend stamp set to decorate. I have also used the new papers from the Spring Mini catalogue and some gorgeous double stitched ribbon in Rose Red. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and if you are local don't forget to contact me to book into a class - they are good fun.

Baby Beauties

Just a couple of baby cards to share with you:

They both use the Bundle of Joy stamp from the Level 1 Hostess set - Punches Three. It coordinates with the new Wide Oval punch.

I just love the new Parisian Breeze Cardstock Patterned Paper. It is divine to work with and just gorgeous patterns in some of my favourite colours - Baja Breeze, Choc Chip and Kraft.
